Today, Mayor DeBlasio announced that NYC schools reopening has been delayed and that a phase-in approach will be implemented. Reopening phases for NYC schools will be determined by grade level. The school reopening dates are outlined below:
- 3-K and pre-kindergarten sites and special-education schools (District 75) will open Sept. 21
- K-5 and K-8 buildings will reopen on Sept. 29
- Middle schools and high schools will open on Oct. 1
In the interim, remote learning will continue. Charter schools will have access to DOE buildings for in-person instruction starting on Monday, September 21st, provided that you have the necessary staff.
As this situation is rapidly evolving, we encourage you to review the resources available on our reopening resources page. As always, please feel free to reach out to our NYC Strategy Advisor, Danyela Egorov (firstname.lastname@example.org) or myself if you have any questions.
